Dumber Than Chickens - Oxford. Free draw winners. Jul 2010
S/C EP available on amazing tunes.com
Yes, all four songs downloaded now, thanks. Thanks for going the extra mile, it's much appreciated.....
Thanks for putting in such long days for us, we really appreciate it.
I've distributed the CD to the others and will get back to you if anyone
has any niggles but the response so far has been very positive.....
As the end of the fourth day approached, Roger worked very hard to finalise the four mixes and then set about mastering them onto a CD. We were working to a hard deadline of six o'clock and Roger handed over the final CD almost exactly on the hour. As we drove home, it was very satisfying to have a CD of our own songs to play, although we gave ourselves half an hour of peace and quiet before we did!
Grace A Stein - Dunchurch. Pianist/Vocalist. Jun 2010
i just wanted to let you know that i am really pleased with how they all sound, and i think you've made me sound amazing!!! i have to say though i do agree (and this will sound really weird) with mum and you that anti gravity is definitely the best song and you have made it sound amazing with all the voices and everything (ohhhh i love it)!

Thanks, Wayne and Sarah
Kim Galpin - Solihull. Pop Star Party. May 2010
We recently had my daughters 10th Birthday party at Born in a Barn recording studios. They had a fantastic time and some said it was the best party they had ever been to. We were so impressed with the party and would definitely recommend this business to others.
Treacle Town - Nuneaton. Rhythm & Blues band. May 2010
It's the first time I've actually felt comfortable in a recording studio (and I've been in a few over the years) and Roger knows how to twiddle the dials as well, which saves time and gets the job done efficiently and produce a good, solid sound.
Chris Tobin - Coventry. Acoustic soloist. Apr 2010
Roger, the more I play the CD the more I like it, don't mean that in a boastful way, but I feel it captures my stage set exactly as I intended. Another boost to my confidence was playing it to Julie who came to see you with me for the initial chat. She was genuinely taken with it, especially the guitar.
My artist friend has completed the cover which is a caricature rather than a puppet as originally intended.
Cariad - Coventry. Acoustic Duo. Mar 2010
Really enjoyed the experience of recording the first album for Cariad, we have just completed our 1st weekend with Roger at Born in a Barn Studio, great for first time artists, we have all worked hard and Roger has pushed us in the direction we need to go with complimentry suggestions and fantastic technical ability it is great to work with an engineer of a studio who has a great knowledge of musical structure and brilliant new ideas John, Kazie and Tim look forward to working with him in the near future to finish the album. Thanks.

Thanks very much for a fantastic day yesterday. Jennie and I really enjoyed it. It was hard work (not for me), but it was really worth it as the cd sounds brilliant. Jennie was very happy with it. We really appreciated all the time and patience you put into making it sound so good.
I will pass your leaflets on to all the children at my school and also to Jennie’s singing teacher.
Best wishes

Jack P - Coventry. Vocalist. Feb 2010
Born in a Barn is a great studio for any of your recording needs! You can't beat Roger's enthusiasm or professionalism to get a great result every time!
Karmic Kaos - Luton. Trance Vocalist. Feb 2010
The song sounds great, I think you did an amazing job getting everything recorded and mixed for us in the one session. I think I can speak for all of us by saying that we not only appreciated the amount of work you squeezed into one day as an engineer but all the advice and guidance you gave us in putting the track together, and deciding what was the best way forward for the project. I know the day before must have been a big high for you with Tinie Tempah dropping in to do some work on his next hit, but I know we got 100% of your time and effort. Thanks Again. Charlie Ogunremi
Becki C - Coventry. Podcasting. Feb 2010
Born In A Barn effortlessly and expertly recorded a 60 second podcast for me with the minimum of fuss. I was made to feel welcome and relaxed in a pleasant atmosphere and given top tips on how to improve my performance. I was able to listen to my recording straight away and felt very encouraged by the recording. I would have no hesitation in recommending Born In A Barn recording studio to all performers and budding performers alike!!
ChillBreeder - Kenilworth. Alternative rock band. Jan 2010
Chilly EP
It's a GREAT CD - perfect mixes, polished mastering and a nice consistent feel on all the tracks. Red skies is a real statement now and straight away I prefered the big 'floating-in-space' reverb. Bizarrely it actually seems to tighten the whole thing up and everything blends properly. Nice one. Sam, Nathan & Tim were a little unsure to start with, but now say they do prefer it. Anyway - thanks for all your hard work - overall a big success - just up to the lads now to get their duplication organised!
Roderic Dunnett - Coventry. Music Critic for 'The Independent/Opera Now'. Jan 2010
Quality music recording is crucial to me as a National Music Journalist. Born in a Barn Studio is in my view: Civilised, trustworthy and offers excellent rates & value for money. Roger is considerate, shows attention to detail, offers technical proficiency with personal treatment & care shown throughout the project and has the right values & musical qualities for the job.

Antidote - Kenilworth. Indie/Rock band
(Wah Wah Slow - single)
When I needed to record a talented but inexperienced rock band recently, I thought I'd try out Roger at the Barn, and was massively impressed. Roger soon had the lads at ease, and quickly built up the trust needed to coax the best out of them. The session was relaxed and creative, but with some seriously professional engineering going on behind the scenes, and the result was top-notch production-ready tracks, which captured the band's natural character, but still had a big-studio polish. The gear spec is impressive and world-class where it needs to be, (certainly no skimping on mics, and the signal chain) and Roger ticks all the boxes with engineering, tracking, production, mixing and mastering all provided effortlessly, at half the cost of the big boys. For all aspiring bands across Coventry and the Midlands, I'd say this studio is a little gem on your doorstep, go enjoy! TW with Antidote

Vexation – Coventry. Rock band
‘Experience Review’ Me and my fellow band mates decided it was time to record a debut EP and get 5 of our tracks down and mixed onto CD. I was left with the task of finding a suitable studio for us to record in. I found a couple for which I was quoted ridiculous amounts of money, which were obviously out of the bands budget. When I saw Born in a Barn on the internet it looked like a good choice. The prices were extremely reasonable and the bonus of accommodation makes it perfect for a long weekend recording. When I first met Roger I knew that this was going to be a good weekend recording. He knew a lot about the music industry and how to get the best out of everybody which was going to be a big help to a fairly new band on the scene. The studio has all the equipment that you need (including a nice drum kit for me!) Roger explained what all of the equipment was for, as we went along so we had an insight into what it is he exactly does. Roger was always focused on getting the best out of us, but what I felt most important was that he was interested in us as a band (kind of like he was the 5th member of the family) After a hard struggle (mainly for Roger) we got all of the material down and eventually Roger mixed it so that we were all happy. I would recommend the Studio to any band wanting to record music, we enjoyed every moment of the experience and had a good laugh along the way. We will definitely be going back next year to produce our full album.
