It's been a while since the last blog because ... there's not been a minute. We have been very busy with clients from all quarters this month including some excellent singers ranging from pop to hip hop and from showbiz to a full blown choir.
Yes we were just a few letters away from having JLS in the studio but instead got FLS. Nonetheless FLS proved to be a fascinating project. Barclays Bank run an internal competition called Barclays' Got Talent and one of their acts was FLS, a 21-piece mixed choir with 14 ladies and 7 lads in 4 sections. No task too large, we got them in and with the help of their conductor and team leader Peter, successfully recorded Bohemian Rhapsody. All singers were technically non-singers but enjoy singing, so the sections at time ran a bit wild. After the record session it took a day to straighten out, tune and shunt a little, but the finished song was great. Front Line Support performed their song at the contest final this week and came joint first so everyone was delighted. Well done FLS and I gather this is being distributed throughout the 1200 strong team!
We have had Emily Burns in the studio for several sessions this month too and many strange things have happened - Emily was a Live&Unsigned finalist and is exceptional with no word left unexpressive. We think she has something special about her and certainly some extra energy. Possibly too much as the studio main computer actually stopped working and blew its power supply unit (PSU).
Nothing gets in the way of BB though and in just 2 working days we managed to get a new PSU all the way from California and installed with the help of Computer Support 2 You. Quite a feat and hats off to Code Micro for excellent advise and service.
The Pop Star Parties have been continuing now September has arrived and schools have reopened so to mark a new year we got some funky new lasers installed in the Live Room. So now there are 2 coloured lasers, 1 mirror ball/purple spot, 1 strobe light and the trusty 4 coloured parcams to make the discos really cool.
K/2nise has been writing his third Tunisian hip-hop track (well we have) and is ready to get his first video made. This abum is developing nicely now.
Treacle Town have been back in filming themselves recording a new track and some documentary footage.
We made a Podcast for gaming company Wargames Workshop in conjunction with GutznGears which is receiving thousands of hits we're told. Another corporate job has taken sometime to initiate this month but is confidential so dont ask!
Well done to Paul, Jenny and Rachel too this month. Welcome Grizzly to the Farm generally and and thanks to Dave at BMW last week!
And lastly the new furniture - Thanks to another Lee Longlands sale we managed to grab their top door-buster-bargain of a 2 seater leather sofa, so at last the old white beast by the door has gone and been replaced with a very sexy tan-coloured sofa which totally compliments the piano in the entrance.
