Over the years Born in a Barn Studio has worked with many children that have had special needs and requirements.

Special Needs definition:
There are many diagnoses including mild learning disabilities or profound mental retardation, food allergies, terminal illness, developmental delays that catch up quickly, occasional panic attacks, serious psychiatric problems. The designation is useful for getting needed services, setting appropriate goals (music etc.) and gaining understanding for a child and stressed family.

These are a few of the conditions which have been a part of the lives of the children who have come here to record some music or their voice, to keep, learn from and develop further.

Recenty Martin Dobson from BRMB called to ask if we would make a young girls dream come true in recording a song as she is very poorly - I confirmed I was more than happy and am still waiting on this.

The Arc school in Nuneaton brought a pupil to me recently who had a superb voice and has made some lovely recordings, returning this September.

I have helped vulnerable people in Birmingham through the Social Services there and worked with children who, although can be dangerous/angry, are like new people when infront of the microphone.

Several kids with various levels of autism have visited Born in a Barn Studio to experience music, from schools in nearby Coventry and Stratford to further away in Nottingham.
