The story so far:
On Tuesday afternoon I was called by a major London record label and asked if I could fit a rapper in to record and track some vocals. Obviously I agreed and they sent the backing track through to me.
Around about 2.00pm Wednesday 24th March the tour arrived and Tinie Tempah stepped out of his road cruiser. After meeting & greeting amidst the farms tractors, we dodged the muddy farm yard and I showed them into BB Studio. Session already loaded and ready to go we cracked straight into it and spent the next 4 hours solid on the tracking for this surprise, last-minute remix which I have been told is undisclosable at the moment. Needless to say it sounds awesome.
The tour manager nipped off to arrange the evenings gig at the Kasbah leaving just Tinie and me to work on the track. The time flew by and I didnt even stop to take a picture.
Tinie Tempah is impeccably polite, absolutely precise about what he wants to record and knows exactly what sound he wants, but it was the biggest pleasure to advise on some parts and give constructive critisism as I would any vocal artist.
At about 6pm the tour left and I was left to do some rough mixes and send the files to the label. What an honour to work with such a big star.
More later as the story unfolds.
