Treacle Town

The band have visited the studio several times this year already and completed around 4 evening sessions. They are working on a full album of rhythm and blues material to be released on Long House Records indie label later this year.

Comprising 3 main members (certainly that we have seen) Adi, Derek and Roger are not youngsters to the scene but certainly play with the ease and precision of established musos. Having jammed for a couple of years and auditioned over 100 drummers in the time Roger finally fit the bill. Adi is the leader of this pack playing guitars (mostly effortlessly) and singing plus adding harmonies whilst brother Derek holds the band together on the bass and could, we think, play bass 24/7 if required to do so. There seems to be no blues lick he cant recall.

Originally from TREACLE TOWN in the UK, this 3-piece Rhythm & Blues band has been playing occasional gigs for a good few years, and only got round to writing a number of original songs during the spring of 2008.

Born in the early 1960's and influenced by bands of the mid 1970's, TREACLE TOWN play self-penned rhythm & Blues songs very much in the Wilko Johnson/Dr Feelgood no-frills no-nonsense tradition.

TREACLE TOWN currently host a 'Rhythm & Blues Evening' at the Fleur De Lys pub in Nuneaton (Coventry Road, Chilvers Coton...tel 07770 776079) every Tuesday 8.30pm-10.30pm. There are musician spots available by prior arrangement. Beat-Niks and poets are also very welcome.
